Washington …. Loved it.  It's not what we expected at all … very green and clean and wide-open spaces.  Our driver was a joy to see every day and helped make our week.  The guides were all excellent. In fact, the Historian we had at the Capitol actually asked me how we got him as he usually only has ‘dignitaries’. Carol, our private guide for Mount Vernon was lovely and certainly knew her ’stuff’ about the Washington’s!! The wreath laying was amazing. Pete was asked to make a speech and tell the growing crowds who we were and why we were there.  Please thank Joyce at Capitol Escapes, who did all the arrangements for our tours and guides, and we would not hesitate in recommending her. We would be very happy to hear we were using her again!
